Force response spectrum analysis
Hi everyone,
I’ve the following problem: I’ve a force vs time applied to a fe model. My customer asks me to perform a force spectrum analysis (SVTYP,1). The input for this kind of analysis is a force response spectrum i.e. force vs frequency. my question is: how I can create the FORCE RESPONSE SPECTRUM starting from the force vs time data.
thanks,
Michele
Michele,
You just need to take the fourier transform of the time signal. You can do this in Mathlab or Mathcad. Any EE should be able to help you.

Hellow Michele,
As Dan says, you just need to take the Fourier transform of the time signal. As an alternative to external software (mathlab, mathcad …), you can perform the Fourier transform inside ansys using the FFTDFT macros you can find here at ansys.net.
Just use the RDFT_PRC.MAC macro and take the magnitude RDFT_H() of the output spectrum.
Whatever method you use, be carefull with the subtle details of Fourier transforms (scale factors …). Mi recomendation is to perform a test analysis of a trivial signal (a sinusoid for example) over a trivial structure, whose solution you know beforehand, to check if the whole procedure is rigth.

Hi everyone,
I’ve the following problem:I HAVE A RESPONSE SPECTRUM MODEL.BUT THE SUBMIT STOP VERY SOON.WHERE IS MY mistake.
