CAE Corporate Blogs
I stumbled across MSC.Software’s blog last month (seems like it was started recently, in May 2009). Not only do they use a blog, but they have their own YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter accounts. I never imagined that any CAE companies would take to social networking services.
COMSOL started their own Multiphysics blog, recently, too.
Even Mentor Graphics has their own Mechanical Analysis blog.
I knew that CAD vendors that their own blogs — Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor), SolidWorks, Siemens PLM Software ([Unigraphics] NX, Solid Edge), Dassault Systems (CATIA, SolidWorks), to name a few — so I wasn’t too surprised about CAE companies having their own corporate-sponsored blogs, too. Twitter and Facebook, though — that surprised me!
Some weeks ago I was browsing for MSC’s RSS feed (to keep an eye on the competitor). While doing so I stumbled over their YouTube and Twitter etc. accounts.
I’m not quite sure whether the CAE companies are trying a wider range of users or the social networks have become more serious platforms. Anyway, it’s a good way to reach students…
But in my opinion, I just don’t like to get my informations from several different platforms. Thinking about missing some information because I didn’t look at the right place makes me all fidgety! 🙂
